KL Academy of Polo is delighted to announce our T.E.A.M. Talent Program.

1. It is a series of training clinics and shows designed to improve the equitation of our riders.
2. To better prepare riders for competitions, whether in-house, digital or national.
3. Further rider’s knowledge about riding and horsemanship.
4. 3 clinics and/or competitions a year.
5. Open to all ages

KL Academy of Polo is looking for riders to join our T.E.A.M., for talented riders to progress in future competitions.

Riders from Group 1 (Beginners) and Group 2 (Advanced) will be considered.

T.E.A.M. Riders will receive on-going training towards competitions and will get first choice of school horses to compete on.

1ST T.E.A.M. Talent Training – 4th December 2021

The first T.E.A.M. Talent Training will be conducted by Mr Christopher Ladbrook. Chris Ladbrook is an Equestrian Sports New Zealand Development Level Coach (Grade 1 Coach), which is the equivalent of the BHSII in the British Horse Society’s system.

Chris coached the Malaysian National Eventing Team that went to the 1998 Asian Games in Saraburi, Thailand. Tunku Nazroff was one of his team riders, aboard Sprite. The Eventing Team took silver at the 2001 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, with Chris again the national coach. In 2013, Chris went one better, winning gold as the national dressage coach of Malaysia at the Myanmar SEA Games. As a coach, Chris has also been to many SUKMA Games with teams and individual riders in recent years.

The T.E.A.M. Talent Program will consist of two levels. Riders shall train in groups. Riders may request for a horse or take part on their own horse(s). Clinics will be 1 1/2 hours per session.

Group 1 Beginner Riders (Walk-Trot)

• How to ride in a dressage arena
• How to ride accurate movements in a walk-trot test.
• Basic dressage concepts

Group 2 Advanced Riders (Walk-Trot & Canter)

• Riding more accurately in Preliminary and Novice tests to improve scores.
• Understanding what judges are looking for.
• Basic concepts of dressage explained to improve both rider and horse.

Charges

• Members on own horses RM200 / session
• Members on club horses RM250 / session
• Temporary Members on club horses RM350 / session

KLAP-TSPC Training Show – 5th December 2021

KL Academy of Polo will host a training show on Sunday 5th December, the day after the T.E.A.M. Talent Training Day. Riders will have the opportunity to practice in competition what they have learned the day before.

Ms Tushaani Naidu and Ms Wan Ming Ong have been engaged to judge that day.

T.E.A.M. Riders will have the benefit of Chris Ladbrook to help you to warm-up for the competition, and review your test sheets with you after the competition.
