Dear Riders and Polo Players,

ANNUAL RIDER REGISTRATION AND GROUP PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVERAGE

I am very happy to be able to announce that Kuala Lumpur Academy of Polo has secured insurance coverage in the form of a Group Personal Accident (GPA) insurance.

This insurance coverage was very difficult to obtain as horse riding and polo are considered to be ‘high risk’ sports by insurers. Therefore, we are very pleased that is covered by MPI Generali has agreed to cover our group of riders and polo players, specifically covering equestrian and polo sports.

Details of our GPA insurance coverage is listed below. The actual policy document will be available for anyone who wishes to view it. KL Academy of Polo will work with our insurance brokers to try to improve coverage improved over time, but as a riding polo school, we are pleased to be able to offer any coverage at all.

The Group Personal Accident insurance, from 1^st January to 31^st December 2022 will be charged to each rider as a yearly registration fee of RM250.00 by KL Academy of Polo annually. Anyone who has their own insurance for riding may choose to opt out of this scheme.

In addition, KL Academy of Polo has an agreement with the International Polo Academy (IPA), an online polo & equestrian portal which is associated with the Federation of International Polo, Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA), Argentine Association of Polo and US Polo Association. KL Academy of Polo will provide free annual access to this portal to all riders and polo players who register with us through our annual registration and insurance scheme.

Our Malaysian channel of the IPA will provide access to hundreds of eLearning videos, online magazines, and even certification in some HPA online courses.

The charge is RM50.00 per year if anyone wishes to have access to the KLAP-IPA website without registering with our insurance scheme.

International Polo Academy will give access via an Opta link, using an e-mail address and password system.

We hope this KLAP Registration will not only provide the ground breaking and much needed insurance coverage that our sport requires, but also that we are able to give you access to interesting information and other channels of learning in equine sport and the King of Games.
