KL Academy of Polo has engaged CERT Academy to conduct a 1-day training course on Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED on Monday 7th November 2022 at the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club.

Course Overview:

• Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Venue: Clubhouse
• Lunch Included

The 1-day Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED training course is customized to train riders, instructors, umpires and polo players to become a qualified First Aiders.

The participants will be taught on basic life support (BLS) skills such as CPR & choking and other First aid related topics such as bleedings & wounds, burn & scald, fractures & spinal injuries.

The program consists of theory presentation, practical session (customized to comply with SOPs). The participants will also participate in lifelike mock drill or virtual mock drill with tabletop exercise to equip the participants not only knowledge, but also the skills to handle various emergencies.

Objectives of the Course
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Perform Basic Life Support Skill such as CPR & Choking.
2. Understand the importance of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to increase survival rate.
3. Render First Aid Management for various injuries such as bleeding, burn, shock, fracture, and spinal injuries.
4. Understand systematic approach to survey & diagnose patient.
5. Become a Qualified First Aider & comply with legal provision:

Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994.

1. Workplace First Aider, Instructors and Umpires.  Highly recommended for polo players and competitive riders.

4. Security Managers and Personnel.
5. Safety and Health Committee Members.

7. Engineers / Executive.
8. All levels of workers and interested individuals

Assessment
Participants are required to sit for theory and practical assessment, which includes multiple choice questions, skill demonstrations and mock drill / tabletop exercise (scenario based), 80% of attendance during Theory and 100% of attendance on Practical session.

Certification & Validity
• Having completed and passed the course, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Proficiency

The cost is RM250 per participant, inclusive of lunch at the club.  This course is limited to a maximum of 30 participants.
