Happy New Year.  I hope you have had happy holidays and are ready to get back to work on the polo field. Both fields look wonderful – vertidrained, fertilised, sanded and cut – ready for the new season.

The #2 is already open. We can start stick and ball lessons again, therefore as of tomorrow, I am reviving:

• Wednesday Afternoons: 4:45 Youth Lesson
• Wednesday Afternoons 5:30 Intermediate Adults
• Saturday Mornings 8:00 AM Youth Lesson
• Saturday Mornings 8:45 AM Ladies Lesson
• Sunday Mornings 8:45 AM Intermediate Open

Instructional Chukkas will start as soon as the ponies have all had sufficient stick and ball, and as soon as we have enough people back in lessons.

Polo Pony Rentals
Polo Lessons and Riding Lessons prices remain the same in 2024, but we have had to revise Instructional Chukka prices. To stay in line with rising costs, instructional chukkas will rise by RM20/chukka to RM200/chukka. Instruction for ICs will be paid on a per chukka basis of  RM50/chukka instead of a flat fee. Rentals for Club Chukkas and Tournaments have also had to be revised.  You can find all the rates here: https://klacademyofpolo.com/rates/

Courses
We will start the year with S.M.A.R.T. Goal setting workshop.  If you know of anyone who already rides who is interested to start polo, please let them know we are starting Riding For Polo and Polo 101 courses in January.

Tours
We have three playing slots still available for the Perth Polo Experience Tour, 12-14 January.  It is a very good team going to Perth, and we hope that someone will join us for this incredible experience.

Four of the six February slots for the Thai Polo Tour are spoken for.   We have only two places left for February.  If anyone wants to join the others, or book for March, please confirm this with payment to KL Academy of Polo or DM me.

Most horses are healthy – only one is injured at the moment, but we expect Codiciada back sometime this month.  All the horses had some weeks of compete rest, going out into the paddocks.  The ponies are all looking very well on the Nutrenics Green hybrid Napier that we feed instead of hay, and of course Zack’s Tack Polo Mix and Supa Soy.

With the field open and the sun shining again, we are looking forward to a great season ahead.
