Dear KL Academy of Polo Riders and Polo Players,

I hope that you are vaccinated, healthy, safe and well.  With the easing of the Movement Control Order, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and the Royal Selangor Polo Club (RSPC) has allowed a return to physically distanced lessons by KL Academy of Polo subject to the club’s Lockdown Regulations, as published by the club.

We are very pleased to welcome you back to the KL Academy of Polo.  We hope that you, like our horses, are all well rested and ready to start lessons again!

The aim to restart riding lessons under strict S.O.P.s from Tuesday 24^th August 2021.

These additional measures shall be taken in the reopening of riding and classes at the KL Academy of Polo:

1. Riders must be fully vaccinated, and must have completed the post vaccination period relevant for their vaccine.
2. Riders under the age of 17 who are not yet vaccinated shall be permitted to ride.
3. Riders must send their vaccination certificates in advance of booking their lessons.
4. All riders shall book their lessons in advance, and receive a confirmatory e-mail or WhatsApp message from KL Academy of Polo, listing the date and time of their lesson.
5. Private Lessons and Small Class Sizes – Only private lessons may be given. Exceptions may only be made for families living in the same household per KBS guidelines.
6. All riders shall also declare any family members or staff (e.g. driver or guardian) who what be accompanying them that day for their lesson.
7. Every rider must scan into MySejahtera on coming to our stables or office.
8. Any person whose temperature exceeds 37.5*C will not be allowed to ride and will be asked to go home.
9. Random swab tests may be carried out. The Royal Selangor Polo Club and KL Academy of Polo may ask any rider, family member or staff to do a swab.  If anyone tests positive, they will be asked to leave and take a confirmatory PCR test before being allowed to resume lessons at the club.
10. Disinfectant and Sanitizer Use – All riders, staff and any visitors must use the hand sanitizer or Equi-Shield every time they enter the Riding School office.
11. Masks – All riders, staff and visitors must wear masks while in RSPC. Masks may be removed while riding, though riders are encouraged to wear masks at all times, even while riding.
12. Completely No Touching Policy – Instructors will refrain from touching riders at all.
13. There shall be no sharing of helmets or any equipment between riders. All riders must bring their own riding equipment and will not be allowed to loan any equipment from KL Academy of Polo or anyone else. *
14. Mandatory Use of Gloves – all riders must use their own gloves when riding.
15. Social Distancing in all Rides – all horses must be kept at a minimum of one (1) horse length (2.4 meters) from other horses at all times. This includes when riding parallel to each other.
16. There shall be no riding-off allowed in polo lessons.
17. Disinfecting Reins and Saddles after all rides – all saddlery used will be disinfected with Equi-Shield after every ride.
18. Daily Disinfecting of Stable Areas, Tack Room, Office and General Areas used by KL Academy of Polo will be done before and after each riding session.

Any rider who has a fever or feels unwell during a lesson should inform the instructor and stop riding immediately.  The rider should see a doctor immediately.  The rider may return to lessons after being tested negative. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s health, please seek advice from your family doctor.

If you are fully vaccinated and have completed the post vaccination period, you may start riding and polo lessons again.  To do this, you will need to send us a copy of your vaccination certificate, and make your bookings with Ms Ernee by WhatApp to 011 1638 3835.
